Roots and Wings: Contributors Wanted!

“Parenting is like writing, most people just make it up as they go along.”

Kate Atkinson

They say we should give our children roots and wings – but in doing so, we realise they do the same for us.

Our next book will be a collection of stories from the parenting coalface. To inspire, to support, to create a sense of community, and to let people know that they are not alone. We’re in this together. The thrills, the spills, the laughs, the tears.

Contributions can be in the form of essays, or poetry, or prose, whatever feels right for you. Some examples that we’ve prepared earlier can be found here I didn’t sleep and Motherhood, a catalyst for ambition but your style is up to you!

What’s important about this book is that it’s not about opinions on the right or wrong of parenting methods, or views on how best to parent (is there such a thing after all?)

It’s about sharing our experiences, our stories in the hope that we can let other parents know they’re not alone.

As always it will be for charity and this time we will be supporting a charity that helps families – and contributors will be invited to help to choose what good cause we support.

The contribution window is open til the end of the year. Why not add your voice?
