Healing Opportunities Positive Expectations by Leigh Doran

You will be ok, you just need to not over-think so much, putting all of the thoughts you have brought together to create a whole spider’s web of stuff.  Break it down, break it down.  Take one thing at a time.  It’s ok to be broken sometimes, mental health is important, remember to breathe.  Slow down and enjoy what you have got, not what you don’t have.  There is so much going on at the moment, so learn to go with the flow and deal with one thing at a time.

You can’t control so much of what is going on around you, nor should you try, slow down and smell the roses as you go.  Check-in with yourself more regularly, what do I need to get through this, how am I feeling?  Do I want to do what I feel I should or do what I need to do?  It’s a difficult time with no end in sight so embrace that this is what it is, embrace life as it is.  Don’t over think it, go with it, you have been through so many things before and you are still here, keeping everything going for everyone else, start thinking about yourself.  You so do deserve and need this, slowing it all down and taking a breath when you need it.  Stop comparing and contrasting, there is no point at all.  It’s a pointless exercise to even contemplate, worrying, plotting, and scheming.

Listen to your gut, let that bring hope, trust that all will be ok.  It’s ok to be you, you have got this more than you know, sit with it, breathe, enjoy your time doing the little things you enjoy, enjoy it you deserve it.

Hope, a four-letter word that can mean so much; hope that you will live and every day you can call on that hope which can give meaning through tough moments, hours, and days.  Hope is not something we see, it’s not a physical entity that we can grasp, its finite, elusive, slippery.  It’s something that comes from within, weightless, light, intangible, giving us strength through the darkest times.  Hope brings possibility of change, change in our ways of thinking and ways of hearing and processing all that goes on around us.  What we don’t look at, we can’t learn from.  Hope can be humbling, a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen.  This does not have to be a large material change, but a hope that sits at the very heart of who we are and what we want from our lives.  You do you and that’s ok.
